Eyebrows, Creating the Perfect Arch

If the eyes are the window to the soul, the eyebrows are the window dressing. They frame the eye and give it a more polished look. Perfectly manicured eyebrows can change your look dramatically. However, it’s still one of the most overlooked and over done facial feature.

Having your eyebrows done are like having a mini face lift. They can take you from caveman to
ultra-chic with just a few simple grooming techniques. Most of us know how to keep it tight, but it’s time to put some of you all on blast.

I am no expert but I know what works and what doesn’t, and badly done eyebrows are one of those things that doesn’t. If you are one of the "brow challenged" help is one the way. The following tips will show you what's right and what's wrong when it comes to accentuating the brow.

Everyone knows that real eyebrows are actually made from hair! Also when you constantly over-pluck, over-tweeze or over-wax your eyebrows, you run the risk of permanent hair loss in that area.

To get an idea of what great eyebrows look like, browse through some of your favorite magazines. Find a celebrity or model that has an eyebrow shape that you admire. Most celebrities pay big bucks to get their eyebrows done, so you can’t go wrong by starting there.

Next look at the shape of your face, is it round, square or oval? Arched eyebrows make features more defined and accentuated, and can bring sharpness to a round face.

Curved and round eyebrows have a softer more innocent look, and look great on oval, square and rectangle shaped faces. Flat eyebrows are usually done when no other shape is possible due to the natural shape of the eyebrow.

If you are a novice, I would suggest going to a salon first, you can then maintain the look own your own after you have perfected the technique. You can enhance your new look with eyebrow pencil, but only to enhance, not re-draw. Consider brown to dark brown eyebrow pencils, they give a more natural look than black.

For a quick fix, comb hairs upward and outwards with a brow brush. Spraying a little holding spritz or gel on the brush will help hold your look in place.
