Hello Divas!

As you can see Brand New Diva has gotten a makeover, it's now The Fly Diva, offering real advice on all things diva!

I decided to give the site a new look and name to fit our new focus, to inspire women to be divalicious from the inside-out. Don't worry we are still going to keep it grown and sexy, but I am also going to offer you some practical advice on how to get there.

This new direction was born out of feedback from you my readers; you wanted more, so I am giving you more. More articles on hair, beauty, fashion and fitness, all the things that makes us divas so divine.

The Fly Diva will cover all these topics and more. People have also asked me on many occasions how I manage to stay vibrant after so many years. Well now I am going to let you all in on some of my secrets, as well as give you real tools and information on living the Diva-Glam life, even when life isn't so glamorous.

If you are wondering where the name "Fly Diva" came from it's actually from a remark that my ex-husband (ironically) would often say to me. Regardless of the occasion, he would always comment that I was "just so fly." I honestly didn't know if he was being genuine or sarcastic at times, but nonetheless I realized that being "fly" was just a natural part of who I was. And the diva part, well that's just obvious.

In the coming months I also plan to add more exciting features to the site that I am sure you all will love. There are a lot of us divas out there and we need each other for support, so to ensure that The Fly Diva stays current and "fly" I will always be open to input from my readers. So stay tuned ladies, it's going to be a divalicious ride!

Getting Blunt About Bobs

Bob Haircut
Recently my girlfriend was raving to me about this cute bob haircut she just got and how easy it was to maintain. At night she "wraps" it in a silk scarf and in the morning all she has to do is unwrap her hair, lightly style and go. Considered as one of the most popular hairstyles to date, find out why the classic bob seems to never go out of style.

The Forecast For Fall - Boots

red boots
Fall is my favorite time of the year. Mainly because of all the great fall fashions. Don't get me wrong I love sexy summer sandals, cute tank tops and capris, but fall styles tend to be a bit more sophisticated. The rich hues and fabrics offer more variety, especially when it comes to accessories, and my favorite accessories for fall are boots. Here is brief list of some of the hottest boot looks for the upcoming season.

Aspiration to Inspiration

Grace Jones as Strange Even though I am only 5'1" I have always wanted to be a "Super Model." In fact I am still planning on being the first petite super model over 40, but that's another story.

My obsession with making things beautiful first began as a child. I originally wanted to be an artist so I loved things like construction paper, paint, markers and anything shiny.

As I got older puberty kicked in along with all the ups and downs of teen angst and torment. From that point on self-beautification became my hobby. As a self-confessed product-junkie, I have tried every lotion, potion and cream you could imagine.

I have been trolling drug stores and department store beauty counters for years, always in search of that one product or products that would magically transform me into Louise Vyent or Janet Jackson.

Over the years I have taken my short-comings and all the things that I got picked on about in my youth and used them to my advantage. Now most of the things that I used to hate about myself as a kid are now the things that I love most.

From my dark-skin to my kinky-curly hair, I have learned to love me just the way I am. As we all know real beauty starts on the inside and radiates out, so if you don't have self love you have nothing, and there's not a cream or lotion out there that can fix that. Trust me I would know.

We are all beautiful and different in our own way, it's what makes us unique, and keeps life interesting. My experiences growing up as a child until now have had a huge impact on how I view myself and live my life today.

I want to inspire you all to take what God gave you, embrace it, nurture it and let it shine for everyone to see. We can all be "Super Models" if only in our minds, just think of this world as one big runway, and you its Strangé, and just "Work It Girl!"

Divas Speak Out

"Your website and it's positive messages were an absolute delight. I'm going through an empty nest syndrome with my only child going off to college in the fall. I now consider myself a diva in training."
